Lose It! App

I’ve been needing to lose weight for my health for about 10 years now, ever since I started my bad coping habit of eating food for comforting stress that started with a crappy old job. All my life, my blood levels were good (cholesterol, a1c, etc), so it wasn’t really a priority to *really* take care of myself, even though I didn’t like the way I felt for about 5-6 of those years.

This weekend however, after visiting my doctors for checkups, my levels are very close towards unhealthy for the first time in my life. It’s also reflected my really poor self esteem and lack of confidence these last few months. It’s scared me into action once and for all!

I’m back on my preferred food tracking app, Lose It!. I bought the lifetime membership to support the app, utilize the personalized meal plan, sync to Apple Health, along with other bonuses seen here:

It was much cheaper than the popular, MyFitnessPal, but just as good, if not, better. I love Lose It because even on the free app plan you can scan food and track it. (I sound like an ad but I’m not πŸ˜…)

Sleep

I’ve also started to sleep earlier each night starting when I visited home. In bed by 10pm, and my body has adjusted to sleeping quickly and waking up early, about 7am (even 6:30am)! I don’t have to fight myself to get up which is wild. My body wakes up before my alarm. And this is all before I’ve even started to integrate walks or VR workouts daily.

Scale

To keep track of my weight, I’m going to weigh in each week with a bluetooth scale I bought from Amazon. The company is Renpho, and this is the scale I have which is super affordable and bluetooth connected. The best thing about the Renpho app (on iOS) is that it can sync to your Apple Health data, which then links to my Lose It app.

Movement

Lastly, I need to start moving again. I’ve posted about VR for fitness last time which I need to take advantage of. We’ve had pretty bad air quality due to the Canadian wildfires these last few days after coming back home from NY, so as soon as the air is safe again I’m headed outside. But this weekend should be nice a long due to the 4th of July holiday, so I’m going to do some Beat Saber or Synth Riders this afternoon. πŸ‘Ÿ

I’ll post an update once a month to keep track of how I’m feeling and doing. Wish me luck! β€οΈβ€πŸ©Ή
